Friends of the Children is thrilled to recognize the vital work of our salaried, professional mentors - our Friends.

Friends of the Children is a prevention/early intervention program whose mission is to help our nation’s highestrisk children develop the relationships, goals, and skills necessary to break the cycles of violence, poverty, and abuse, and become contributing members of society.

We intentionally seek out youth facing the highest risks, and pair them with a “Friend” – a salaried, full time, professional mentor who provides them with a caring, intentional relationship for 12 ½ years. We develop and stay with each child from kindergarten through graduation, no matter what.

Our youth succeed because of the incredible Friends that walk alongside them. Our youth and our Friends are the superstars of Friends of the Children - this is an opportunity to celebrate our Friends!

About the Superstar Foundation

The Superstar Foundation was founded in 2007 with a two-fold mission:

  • To identify and reward individuals who use data to improve outcomes for underserved individuals, families and communities.
  • To promote and advance transformative relationships as the driving force to outcome achievement in the social services sector;

As health, education and social services continue to progress towards better measurement of outcomes, the Superstar Foundation believes that transformative relationships and a commitment to data-based decision making at the level of engagement is the key to all long-term, sustainable improvement in the lives of those we serve.
